Clone Wars #31
Captain Argyus
Accessories
Captain Argyus comes with a blaster, missile launcher, and removable helmet.
Look and Feel
The coloring of this figure truly scream cartoon character, however the look is fantastic. The paint on his armor is up for some debate as in certain shots it looks very dark blue/purple and others it looks like the bright blue seen on the figure. Personally I would have gone with a darker version. Argyus' enormous left shoulder plate looks as it did in the episode Cloak of Darkness. His helmet also allows you to view some of Argyus' face. The trade off for this look is a very flimsy helmet.
Articulation
Captain Argyus is based on the hundreds of clone articulated figures we have gotten in the past. He has ball-hinged neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, knees, and ankles. The only swivel joint he has is in the hips.
Overall Reaction
This figure really amazes me in the fact that the smallest detail can turn my opinion on a figure. When I saw this figure in the store I was blown away! He looked fantastic. He didn't have quite the flowing hair he did in the episode, but Hasbro did have to fit a helmet on his head. As I started to pose my figure I was happy to see all the articulation I have come to expect from a clone. Then I tried to pose my figure the way I do with every removable helmet character with the helmet under one arm. That is when I got upset! Argyus' helmet was so flimsy that this crumpled under his arm. I couldn't get his arm to hold the helmet with out crushing it. Since this is the way I display all my helmeted figures I was furious! If you are a collector that could be bothered by this you might want to skip this figure which is ashame because otherwise he really is cool!
