Magna Guard
Accessories
The Magna Guard is packaged with an electrostaff.
Look and Feel
The Manga Guard has a very good likeness to the on screen characters in Episode 9 Grievous Intrigue. He comes with a soft goods cape that looks accurate and is the same cape seen on the new Vintage Magna Guard. I am also very pleased to see that the cape and the wrap on the droids head matches to give the feeling that they are all connected. As stated in the Vintage review, the iconic part of the Magna Guard is his face. Those deep red eyes and the long "mouth area" for lack of a better term. On this figure it nails it to the wall! The paint apps on this figure do a good of showing the wear and tear, however I would like a little more. The elctrostaff is where I have the most issues. I have no idea why it has a black handle and instead of some definition on the ends we get elongated Q-tips. I do however, like that the lightning wraps around the poles. All in all, this figure is a hit sans the electrostaff.
Articulation
The Magna Guard has ball-hinged joints in the neck, shoulders, torso, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. He also features a swivel joint in the forearms.
Overall Reaction
Other than the electostaff I think this figure is not only great for the Clone Wars line, but the Vintage as well! There is some fantastic detail and all that articulation makes him incredibly possible. You Clone Wars collectors should definitely pick this bad boy up and if you're a Vintage collector, I think you will be happy as well!
