The Legacy Collection
Wave 9
#22
Malakili

Accessories
Malakili is packaged with his hood, vibroblade, and a build-a-droid piece.

Look and Feel
It has been a while since we have seen Malakili on store pegs. This figure hasn't been revisited since the Power of the Force II line. Comparing the POTF2 and Vintage versions of this figure this is without doubt the best looking Malakili we have seen or gotten. For the first time he has gotten some chest hair and his arm and leg rings are correctly colored. Not only the improved paint apps, but we finally get a much better articulated figure. Interestingly the figure is smaller than his POFT2 version, but fit well with the figures in Jabba's Court. Like Giran he doesn't come with all the bells and whistles that the Luke Skywalker and Slave Leia come with in this wave, but this figure really didn't need it. He is a wonderful re-imagination of this screen seen character.

Articulation
Malakili features ball-hinged neck, shoulders, elbows, ankles and knees. In addition he has swivel wrist, waist, and hips.

Overall Reaction
I am sure that very few collectors had this figure on the list of characters that needed to be made or in this case remade, but I was glad when I finally cracked him open. He looks fantastic next to Giran and has really had me hoping that Target will red tag the rancor so that I can reunite this characters with their beasty. This certainly isn't a must buy as we have him in other lines, but if you would like a definitive version of him, this is your figure.
