Queen Amidala
Accessories
Queen Amidala is packaged with a blaster and build-a-droid pieces.
Look and Feel
At first look the figure looks like a good representation of Queen Amidala, but the more I look at it her face just doesn't look right to me. The rest of the figure looks very good and was happy to see that the cloak was not made as soft goods as I just doen't think that style gown would have sat properly on the figure. Sadly I did have some difficulty keeping the gun in her hand as the scuplt of the hand seems to be much wider then then handle of the blaster. I guess this is a good thing as we (as far as I can recall) don't see this verison of the queen sporting a blaster.
Articulation
Hasbro did an unbelievable job of putting articulation in the upper portion of this figure, but did absolutely nothing in regards to knee and ankle articulation. The Queen does have ball-hinged joints in the neck, shoulders and elbows. I was quite surprised to see elbow articulation as I thought the gown would pose a problem, but Hasbro stepped up to the plate on this one. Amidala also has swivel wrists and waist so the articulation is very limited.
Overall Reaction
Not a bad figure especially seeing the Queen just stands around so the need for articulation is not needed. In addition the packing in of a blaster was nice. If you're big into looking up the skirts of figures like DewbackHunter on the forums, who dropped a pocket full of change and looked up my figures skirt, you will notice that Hasbro went the full nine and even gave Padme some underwear. I pretty much bought this figure for the build-a-droid parts and will throw this one in the pile of other Padme figures. Perhaps down the road I will build a runway and have Padme show off all her different outfits while she does her little turn on the catwalk. That is right I just quoted Right Said Fred!
