General Grievous
Accessories
General Grievous is packaged with a blaster, two lightsaber hilts, two activated lightsabers and a cape.
Look and Feel
This is the best looking General Grievous I have ever purchased. He has incredible detail from the yellow eyes to the coloration of the organs in his chest cavity. What I like about this figure most is the cape. As promised, Hasbro has given us a cape for General Grievous that has pockets sewed in so that lightsaber hilts can be displayed. I also love how the cape has the art that is scene on the cape during the film. Like in past incarnations of this figure, Grievous' arms can be separated so he can hold four lightsabers as he did in Revenge of the Sith, or you can combined them into just two arms. The only issues I have with this figure is at times he can be a bit difficult to display without out a stand. This is due to his articulation, so be sure to see what kind of bells and whistles Grievous has. The only other issue I have is yet again Grievous has difficulty holding lightsabers when in four arm mode.
Articulation
General Grievous has ball-hinged joints in the neck, shoulders, torso, elbows, and ankles. He has double hinged knees and swivel joints in the forearms and hips.
Overall Reaction
Do we have a ton of General Grievous figures? Yes! Does this figure offer enough new and exciting features to warrant a fan plunking down $8 for a character that you already have? I believe so. Here are the extras you get is you already have the version that came out in 2008 with the build a droid line (BD-25). First you get that fantastic cape. Second you get two lightsaber hilts to go in the pockets. Third you get added swivel articulation in the wrists/forearms. Finally you get a new paint app. The paint app with the last figure had the great looking eyes and color definition in the chest cavity, but he just look really gray for my tastes. On this figure his armor seems to almost look like a bone color which is what I remember from the movie. In my opinion if you want the best Grievous ever produced to date, you need to pick him up. If you're happy with the Grievous you have in the past, skip him. But I must say that cape is worth every penny! Great job Hasbro!
